Disparities and racial contempt facing African Americans (unhyphenated) are becoming more blatant and vicious, i.e. Pennsylvania children turned away from a scheduled/prepaid day at a swimming pool because White patrons/managers objected due to their skin Color (since they could not have known their race/ethnicity); Mr. Henry Lewis Gates harassed and eventually arrested because a “neighbor” thought he was breaking into his own home! These are things that are happening even more blatantly and globally, recently, and it appears that some Caucasian Americans are projecting their emotions and hatred onto other African Americans as retaliation for having an African American President. In day-to-day rural – and urban – American lives where the pulse can be detected more easily, this is what is happening.
I feel Soledad as racist. I read about her life and I understand where she is coming from. I just feel like she is (regardless her education and talent) uncapable to be fair. Not to be biased given her background is understandable in some extent. Clearly, journalists like her contribute for the "refreshing" of racism. That's shameful her talent is used to keep the wound infectionate and alive. As soon as it is healing (just a little bit) she is back. I guess racism in our society will never go away. Thanks soledad and all who cherish that world of view.
Anon,
Did you watch the program? It's not about racism as much as it's about blacks succeeding.
I'm not sure what you mean by "infectionate" (it's not in the dictionary I have) but I know that hiding a wound won't make it heal. Getting people talking about these topics will always be controversial, but it needs to be done.
Anon is totally unclear w/the points he/she seems to be trying to make. What are you talking about? Can you please attempt some sort of clarification?
Also, clarification does not come from using words that are not in the dictionary, nor can it come from unstructured, incoherent sentences. Please try a little harder when attempting to convey your views next time around. Uncapable? Oh, please! If you can't convey your point, why bother taking the time to waste other people's time?
C'mon! WTF are you trying to say? Spit it out! But please try to make sense next time. I look forward to your response. I think. Maybe...
