Soledad O'Brien Reunites with KIm Bondy at Al Jazeera America

When Soledad O'Brien begins working in August at Al Jazeera America, she will be working with a friend from CNN.

Kim Bondy worked on American Morning with Soledad O’Brien and Miles O’Brien at CC. She participated in the coverage of the 9/11 attacks, Hurricane Katrina, and the Iraq war. She had also worked, as did Soledad, at NBC's TODAY and Weekend TODAY.

Now, Bondy has joined Al Jazeera America as senior executive producer of the new channel’s flagship current affairs program, America Tonight, which will also feature Soledad.

The new show will be an evening show that will air at 9pm and will cover everything from the economy to government, education and the environment.

O'Brien Adds Al Jazeera America To Her Resume


Soledad O'Brien will become a special correspondent for Al Jazeera America's flagship primetime show, "America Tonight."

Similar to her new relationship with her former full-time work at CNN, she will also produce documentary specials for the network.

Al Jazeera America has been hiring on-air talent in preparation for its launch in the late summer or early fall. The network has described its format to be less celebrity and politics-focused and interested in pursuing underreported stories.
