Fathom Events and Starfish Media Group have partnered to present “The War Comes Home", a documentary film about two veterans of the Iraq war who are struggling with Post Traumatic Stress.
Cameras follow the veterans as they attend Save A Warrior, a five-day boot camp that uses transcendental meditation and other therapies to help them overcome their PTS.
The theatrical version of the film will include one-on-one interviews with celebrity advocates including Peter Berg & JR Martinez. It will also include a pre-taped panel discussion with experts on veterans' affairs, community leaders, and one of the veterans featured in the film. The discussion will be moderated by Soledad O'Brien and will be in theaters on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016, for one night only.
This event is not only a documentary, but a call to action on how we can help and support our veterans. The screening of the film and accompanying discussion is a rare opportunity to have veterans’ issues take center stage, a chance for a thoughtful debate on policy issues, and an up-close personal exploration of the veterans’ experience as they return from war.
