Soledad O'Brien Speaking This Week at Mizzou

Soledad O’Brien will be speaking at the University of Missouri's Jesse Auditorium in an event free for Mizzou students and $10 for the public.

Ms. O’Brien will present on the real story of her life becoming and being a TV journalist.

That's what O'Brien has been doing since her Harvard days, most recently as part of CNN’s team. Since 2003, she has anchored for the network, covered big stories from Hurricane Katrina to Haiti and hosted a series of award-winning documentaries.

Along the way, Soledad has earned a Peabody award, an Alfred DuPont award and recognition by the Emmys, and the NAACP. The National Association of Black Journalists also named her the 2010 journalist of the year.

The Next Big Story: My Journey Through the Land of Possibilities (Celebra Books)She released a memoir in November 2010, The Next Big Story: My Journey Through the Land of Possibilities which details how her life and upbringing have influenced her biggest reporting experiences.
